rRNA Gene Sequence Analysis
With the progress of life science, various strain identification methods based on nucleic acid sequence analysis have received more and more attention.
Creative Enzymes provides professional and comprehensive 16s/23s rRNA/ISR sequence analysis services to facilitate comprehensive investigations of strain safety.
Basis for Strain Identification Using 16s/23s rRNA/IRS Gene Sequence Analysis
- These conserved sequences are present in almost all bacteria and are usually present as multigene families or manipulators.
- No change in the function of these conserved sequence genes over time, suggesting that random sequence variation is a more accurate measure of evolution.
- The 16S rRNA gene (1,500 bp) is large enough for informatics purposes to accurately identify multiple species.
Introduction of 16/23s rRNA/ISR Sequence-Based Analysis Techniques
The use of integrated sequences derived from 16S and 23S rRNA genes and the rRNA intergenic spacer region (ISR) of each species has been developed as a valid and reliable tool for the identification of strains. The analysis of 16s rRNA gene sequences is suitable for determining the affinities of taxonomic units in the genus and above. In contrast, the analysis of 23s rRNA gene sequences is suitable for the identification of common pathogenic microorganisms. As the research progressed, the 16s rRNA-23s rRNA gene sequence was considered a suitable site for bacterial typing probe synthesis and therefore more suitable for discrimination between species strains.
The 16s/23s rRNA/IRS sequence-based DNA labeling technology provided by Creative Enzymes is a rapid, reliable method for strain identification. Taking 16s rRNA sequence analysis as an example, we directly amplified 16s rRNA from the isolated strains using primers targeting the common conserved region at both ends of the 16s rRNA gene, determined the sequence composition of the entire PCR replicates, and compared them with the RNA database. We analyze the sequence homology of the 16S rRNA gene of the samples to provide our clients with relevant insights for accurate strain taxonomic identification.
